Archie gets Engaged… or does he?

Archie

So the big pop-culture news yesterday was that Archie asked Veronica to merry him in issue 600 of the popular comic.

I personally would have chosen Betty, but that really doesn’t matter.  I am just thinking of the reason why Archie chose Veronica over Betty and how this storyline will unfold.

The one which I think will be the best story but probably won’t happen because of its readership is;  Archie is in it for the money,  simple  as that.  He doesn’t love her, heck he probably doesn’t love Betty either.  He just wants the money so he and his stoner, best friend, Jughead can get the bling, get the ladies, and get all the hamburgers they can eat.  I hope Veronica pressures Archie to get a pre-nuptial before they tie the knot.

The second way I think this might go, and the more realistic way for the comic would be:  It’s a bad dream.  That’s right, the perpetual slap in the face to all the viewers straight from shows like Dallas to the Family Guy.  It makes sense… this is all a bad dream that Betty is having.  Then when she wakes up everything will be normal.

Of course there is option X which could be anything.  I guess they could go with even bigger twists like:  Veronica will dump Archie and marry Jughead.  Or she and Betty could become legally bound or Married depending on the state that they live in.  Or maybe Reggie will come out and kill off Archie during the wedding ceremony… ANYTHING can happen.

Just before anyone starts saying I have something against Archie and his franchise I don’t.  In fact I still remember getting the digest’s when I was younger, shopping with my mom at Safeway and getting her to buy them for me.

I haven’t made a YouTube video post in awhile so the following are K-On PV’s that I found during my downtime at work.

Decade / Shinkenger

Shinkenger_VS_DCD_by_Toku_JusticeI really don’t know why… but I really enjoy the Japanese Super-Sentai series.  Maybe it’s because I enjoyed the North American Power Rangers shows when I was younger which used footage from the older Sentai series and just replaced the voice tracks and actors.

In a way I see Super-Sentai as the more refined and for older viewers version of Power Rangers.  I guess I enjoy it, in a morbid way, when the monsters start killing civilians and you see blood and bruises after the battles.  It seems more real as people and rangers die in battle.

Anyway… because of the latest Super-Sentai, I have now been exposed to the world of Kamen Rider. I had always known that it had existed but I never watched it for some reason. But they gave me a reason to watch it this time as there was a cross-over with the two shows.

Like with most of the Kamen Rider series you do not need to watch the previous one as they are in completely separate worlds/realities whatever you want to call it.  What makes Decade unique is that Decade travels to all of the worlds.  You see Decade fighting with or sometimes fighting against that world Kamen Rider.  The only thing that I am unsure of is if they brought back the original actors to portray the other Kamen Riders as I never watched the previous series.

In closing I will say this… I think it is a safe bet that if you like Super-Sentai you will like Kamen Rider…

Haruhi season 2 update

HaruhiS2

I just finished watching episode 9 of the 2nd season of Haruhi, or should I call it episode 3-G, and I have to say I am currently disappointed.

I haven’t read the Haruhi novels in completion so I only have to assume that this arc was covered in that but did they really need to make it 7 episodes?

I don’t like giving away spoilers but I think i can in this case, If you don’t want to be spoiled then I suggest ignoring the next paragraph and skipping to the next.

Basically they had the SOS Brigade stuck in a time loop and repeated the same two weeks over 15,320 times… they showed the last 7 loops. They were almost identical so the first time you see the loop you think that you were watching the first episode of the arc.

I personally think they could have pulled off the same effect with three or four episodes.

Don’t get me wrong… I still love the series but by doing this it may have lost some newer and less “die-hard” viewers.

I can only hope that the rest of the 2nd season is not a waste.

Site Updates

August 11th, 2009 No comments »

Hello all… as you may have noticed the site has been re-done as I started getting bored with how the other one looked…

I don’t know if the site will stay like this as I may add some small things but I don’t expect it to change much if it does.  As for new post’s from myself, I will have something up for you within the week.

Thanks goes out to Tony for posting that wonderful essay on Spider-Man and contributing to the site.

I will also start posting some drawings that I have been working on in my downtime at work.

That’s all for now.
