Anime Spring 2010

I have not been watching any new anime for the past couple months as nothing has peaked my intrest… I have decided to watch following this spring.

K-ON – Season 2 - I loved the first season of this series and I am following the manga… What can I say? I love a girl(s) in high school uniforms :-)

Iron Man – One of my favorite Marvel Superheroes. I am intrested to see how the Japanese decide to do with the character… Apearently Wolverine is scheduled for the summer… but I think we have all had too much Wolverine.

Angel Beats – The plot looks intresting in this one… sounds like it is right up my ally for animes… also the uniforms…

Black Rock Shooter OVA - Heard the intro song by Miku Hatsume and it got stuck in my head… then I found out that it was an for an anime… now I am looking at buying one of the Black Rock Shooter figures. I think they got me hook line and sinker… I just hope the anime lives up to the hype.

Gundam Unicorn OVA – I have already watched the 1st episode and it looks pretty good… Kinda refreshing to go back to the Universal Century…

Negima! Another world Ep 3 OVA – Wonder why I stopped updating the website? The reason is because of the Negima! series, mostly the manga though… The anime and the Manga are different yet the same, the 2nd series, Negima!? , was more of a parallel series… as with the live action series, Negima!! The OVA’s are a different though… they seem to stay true to the ongoing manga with is great. I can’t wait for my Negima! fix.

That is all that I am looking forward to this spring… What anime(s) are you going to pick up this spring?

Canada Men’s hockey team wins GOLD!!!

February 28th, 2010

Congrats to the Men’s hockey team for winning the Gold today… in fact congrats to all of the the Canadians who participated in the Olympics on home soil and set an Olympic record for winning the most gold medals in the winter games.

Time to go and celebrate!!!

Even More Rick Rolling… of Sorts…

My favorite ones are the Sir-Mix-Alot and The Mika ones.  They both seem to fit so well.

Guild Wars 2

I just saw the trailer for Guild Wars 2 and the first thing I said to myself and to my friends was “Giggity” :-)

Personally I am not that big of a fan of MMORPG’s but for some reason the Guild Wars franchise has been an exception.   Maybe it’s because Guild Wars was the first MMORPG that I gave a chance.

There were some good and bad that was in the first one.  I personally liked that whenever you left any major city you were playing your own instance instead of having other players on the server take your kills and such however I heard that this was changing so and it’s not that big of a deal.  The BIG plus was the use of henchmen and heroes, with them we didn’t need a full team of players to go around the game… heck I finished the last dungeon with only henchmen as heroes were not part of the game at the time.

The bad that came with the game was the small things… you couldn’t swim was one thing… but it didn’t matter as you couldn’t jump into the water either.  However they have changed the controls so you can do that so it’s a big plus.

Now I have played other MMORPG’s like WoW and City of Villians and while both had their good and bad points I just got bored of them… WoW looked a little too cartoony and CoV’s dungeons were all the same…  But look at how pretty GW2 is… again I say “Giggity”

Archie gets Engaged… or does he?

So the big pop-culture news yesterday was that Archie asked Veronica to merry him in issue 600 of the popular comic.

I personally would have chosen Betty, but that really doesn’t matter.  I am just thinking of the reason why Archie chose Veronica over Betty and how this storyline will unfold.

The one which I think will be the best story but probably won’t happen because of its readership is;  Archie is in it for the money,  simple  as that.  He doesn’t love her, heck he probably doesn’t love Betty either.  He just wants the money so he and his stoner, best friend, Jughead can get the bling, get the ladies, and get all the hamburgers they can eat.  I hope Veronica pressures Archie to get a pre-nuptial before they tie the knot.

The second way I think this might go, and the more realistic way for the comic would be:  It’s a bad dream.  That’s right, the perpetual slap in the face to all the viewers straight from shows like Dallas to the Family Guy.  It makes sense… this is all a bad dream that Betty is having.  Then when she wakes up everything will be normal.

Of course there is option X which could be anything.  I guess they could go with even bigger twists like:  Veronica will dump Archie and marry Jughead.  Or she and Betty could become legally bound or Married depending on the state that they live in.  Or maybe Reggie will come out and kill off Archie during the wedding ceremony… ANYTHING can happen.

Just before anyone starts saying I have something against Archie and his franchise I don’t.  In fact I still remember getting the digest’s when I was younger, shopping with my mom at Safeway and getting her to buy them for me.
