Gundam 00 Series End…

March 30th, 2009

gundam-00

Gundam 00 ending this week so now I have no new mecha to watch for at least 6 months. However it was announced at the end of show that there is a Gundam 00 OVA in the works and it will be released in 2010 so I have that to look forward to.

I really haven’t said much about Gundam 00 in my post’s… but i will say this:
I really enjoyed the throwbacks to the original Gundam series that was shown in the 2nd season of this series.

Gundam 0 was obviously based off of Gundam RX78-2 and the final Gundam used by Ribbons Almark was an obvious nod to the Gun-Cannon used in the original series.

This is the only time that I have seen such a throwback to the original series.

I saw this over at Danny Choo’s website and it looks great. Now Normally I don’t go for the cutesy animal anime’s but this one works for me.

From Hac to Mac…

March 17th, 2009

So I have been messing around with the MAC OS now on my laptop and my pc thus creating a pair of Hacintosh computers and I have been somewhat successful…

It’s gotten to the point where I have the essentials working (Ethernet, VGA, etc.).  However I am now debating on getting a used MAC mini from a co-worker.  I have used the Windows OS exclusively since I got into computers so I think it’s time to experiment with the MAC OS…

As for Linux… I think I will open that can in another 10 years.

Mommy…. Why does Spider-Man have a giant robot?

March 10th, 2009

Simple… to fight the giant lizard monster silly child.

SPIDER-MAN

Leo

Marvel.com is now streaming episodes of the live action Japanese Spider-Man tv show from the late 1970′s.  The currently have episode one out and will be releasing episodes every thursday until they have been all released.

The Japanese Spider-Man is more of a Super-Sentai (Power Rangers in the weastern world) show.  We have Spidy fighting minions and monsters the become giants.  To fight theme when they become giants Spidy calls upon the “Marveller”, a space craft that has a leapords head, which transforms into the Leopardon.

Now this is only speculation on my part… but I think that Toei, the creators of this jem, wanted to make Spider-Man more Japanese so they gave him a robot that they never used in a previous project and added a few spider webs to it.

Speaking about Super-Sentai, the new one has begun airing in Japan and I have watched the first episode.  As for first episodes go it wasn’t that bad.  I like the theme to this one, it is a samurai theme.  My favorite Sentai is Deka-Rangers (SPD).  I think i just found the female rangers cute… also the pink ranger is a voice actor in Mai-Otome.

Well thats it for this post… see you on the next one.
