Aya Hirano

July 30th, 2008

As you know I am a fan of Aya Hirano’s voice acting. But I am also a fan of her looks too :D .

Joggie.net recently posted up some high quality pictures of her on their website. Just to let you know the website is in German but I firmly believe in the phrase, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

As Danny Choo said on his website… “You may hurt your wrist. From right-click and saving I mean.”

Sentai Girls in Uniform

July 29th, 2008

So I came home today to two packages from HLJ waiting for me. I received my Figma Mikuru and my Best Selection Sentai Girls in Uniform. Their was a total of 12 figures received, two of each figures except for Marika Reimon where I received a Koume Kodou body repaint which was poorly done.

Overall I am happy with them. Especially Nanami and Koume.

I will post some pictures of Mikuru along with Haruhi and Yuki another day.

Lucky Star

July 25th, 2008

I finished watching Lucky Star last weekend.

At first I didn’t know what to make of the anime.  After watching a few episodes I realized that I had to sit back and enjoy because this anime really has no story.  After doing some research I found out that it was based on a comic strip so it made sense that it really had no story.

The series revolves around the 4 main characters.  Most notable is Knota Izumi, who would be considered the Leader of the group.   Also it should be noted that she is voiced by Aya Hirano, who is becoming one of my favorite voice actresses.  She also voiced Haruhi Suzumiya from Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Misa Amane from Deathnote. I only bring this up because at points in the anime you will see Knota Izumi idol Aya Hirano or in otherwords, idol herself. :D

The other main characters are, Miyuki Takara who would be considered the intelegent wealthy girl and the twins: Kagami Hiiragi and Tsukasa Hiiragi who are the two shrine maidens.

Throughout the series they parody other animes… a couple on notable ones are Initial D and of course Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Other things to enjoy are the end credits but I will leave you to find that out if you decide to watch it.

Overall, after a slow start due to me not knowing what to expect I give the series 4 out of 5 “Lucky Stars”

Welcome to the New Site

July 23rd, 2008

Hello all…

Welcome to my new site… just to let you know I don’t plan on the site to look like this permanently. I am going to do a little tweaking here and there until I am happy.

I have brought over the majority of the blogs I had posted on the old site if anyone really cares. Also I have added some RSS feeds that I check daily for myself.

Also, let me know if there is any animes that you want me to watch… my friend Vika has already told me to watch Terra E, Blassreiter, and Code Geass so they have been added to my to watch list.

Lack of Updates

July 16th, 2008

Yes… I have again slowed down updating my page.

I have been busy watching Anime and spending time with both my real and imaginary friends.

I finished watching School Rumble, 1st and 2nd semester… I have also started watching Lucky Star and Bokurano. I will put up some reviews when I am done watching the series.

Instead of reviews, I have posted some youtube videos that I have found while at work.

First we have some “Nico Nico Douga” videos. Nico Nico Douga is a melody of j-pop songs from animes and video games such as Lucky Star, Haruhi Suzumiya, Mega Man, Super Mario World, and more. Below are two of my favorites.

Next are some variations of the “Hare Hare Yukai” dance seen at the end of Haruhi Suzumiya. The first one is the voice actors from the anime doing the dance as one of thier live concerts and the second one is Mega Man doing the dance.

Finally, remeber when I said that I would do a review of M.O.V.E. That obviously never happend and I don’t expect it to anytime soon so instead I am giving you two of M.O.V.E.’s videos… The first one is called “Nobody Reason” which is Initial D: Forth Stage’s end credits song. The second is “Out of Kontrol” Which was created by the same animators of Initial D: Forth Stage.

Well that’s all I have for this post. I will have more for you next time… whenever that is.
